Thanks for your interest in West Hollywood Weavers.
Jozsef Tar learned to weave in high school while attending a 2-year student program at a textile company in Hungary. While there he attended classes on weaving, textile production and design and worked on commercial weaving looms. He also achieved special honors while in the program.
Tim Spika learned how to weave while living with his parents at the Holden Village retreat center in Washington State. He learned hand weaving on several floor looms and a Swedish rug loom. When the head of the weaving program had to unexpectedly leave, Tim took over the weaving program and taught hundreds of guests beginning weaving.
Jozsef Tar and Tim Spika joined together their weaving talents in 2000 and started West Hollywood Weavers. If you are in Los Angeles you can find Jozsef and Tim most Sundays at their booth in the artisan’s section of the Hollywood Farmer’s Market near Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street. Please stop by and see what’s new!
