1) How do I care for my alpaca scarf?

The scarfs have been pre-washed in a special wool soap and dried to achieve the soft feel. You can hand or machine wash with a mild soap and dry on delicate. However, dry cleaning is recommended.

2) How do I clean my rug.

The rugs are very thick and tend not to show dirt. You can use a vacuum, just watch out for the fringe and do not get it caught in you vacuum. A good shake outside will remove most of the dirt and dust. We put our rugs in the bathtub with a mild detergent and step on them then line dry. You can wash the rugs in a machine if yours is large enough or use a commercial machine at the laundromat. Cool water is recommended for wool rugs to keep the original shag look. However, you can wash in hot water and the rug will attain a wooly, almost Berber look. This is called felting. The rug will only shrink a small percent (approximately 5%) and many customers like this thicker look - almost like the original sheep.
